I may or may not have worn this outfit twice in the past week {read: definitely did}. I got the purple skirt a while ago but like everything I get I always leave it in the box for a few weeks..I know I'm so weird, right? I just like that special feeling of getting new clothes so I try to make it last longer than normal! My roommate at Berkeley always made fun of me because I would also leave eyeshadows in their boxes even though I'd use them!
Blouse J.Crew//Skirt Blaque Market from Ideeli//Shoes J.Crew//Necklace Urban//Silver Cuff and Silver Ring from Matthew for Christmas//Green Bracelet Banana Republic
While it definitely doesn't feel like winter in LA, I'm so excited to bring out my winter clothes at the end of the month. Why? Because I'm going to NEW YORK CITY! I booked my flight yesterday and I'm already getting so excited! I had a free flight voucher from Southwest so I only had to pay $10 for the 9/11 security fee. How awesome is that? I don't even mind that I have layovers on both flights...I'm going to New York! I haven't been since I was 15 so there's a lot of fun to be had and plus I'll be with Matthew!
I'm going to need lots of recommendations on where to eat, where to shop, etc. so please send any tips and advice over my way!

Ah! NYC! You have to go to Lombardi's pizza. It's amazing.

Your going to have a blast! I live 4 hours from the city but I haven't been there in a while!
The skirt is adorable! Personally, I always have such a hard time figuring out what to wear with skirts! But you pull yours off well. Have fun in NYC :)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous that you get to go to NYC! I've never been there.
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt. You have excellent style!
So cute! I love the skirt!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhen you go to NY, go to Red Bamboo! It's sooooo good! I don't know what you're diet is like, but it's all vegetarian (and mostly vegan)friendly. My brother isn't a veggie, but he really enjoyed it!
If you're into Asian food, definitely check out Saigon Grill on Amsterdam. I was there two years ago and have STILL not gotten over the amazingly delicious meal.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the tuplip skirt!
ReplyDeleteYou are coming here?
Talk to me! I can help!
super cute skirt - i love skirts, but haven't found one i love in forever. i'm just not a mini skirt person. i'm going to be on the lookout for one like this now :)
ReplyDeleteI've lived here all my life (just a ferry ride away in Staten Island) and have never acted liked a tourist lol so I LOVE telling others about things to go to.
ReplyDeleteI recommend riding the Staten Island ferry back and forth because its free and you get AMAZING pictures of the skyline, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. If you want to visit the Statue there is a ferry from Battery Park you could take but I don't think it is free. The SI ferry and Battery Park are within walking distance of each other downtown. Ground Zero is also downtown within walking distance if you choose to visit the sight.
While downtown you could also do some shopping for cheap. Century 21 department store is across the street from Ground Zero and if you walk up to Canal St and do some shopping. You MUST MUST MUST go to the Macy*s in Herald Sq and to FAO Schwartz and play on the giant piano.
Not so cheap shopping - 5th Avenue! Also on 5th you'll find St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockerfellar Center and the NBC Store is right near there. Walk a little down more on 5th and you'll find the library and Bryant Park (42nd and 5th). Then if you go down 42nd St you'll find all the excitement and lit up buildings that lead you to Times Sq.
That's all I could think of for now lol and I'm sure others will give you good ideas too! And dress warmly because its FREEZING here!!
So cute! Sadly when we go to New York its only for the weekend and always a blur. If you find anything good let me know!

Okay- this is my favorite little spot in NYC and I always recommend it to everyone because Andre and I used to drive to NY from Ottawa over 10 times a year and we would always go to this little sandwich shop... I think we may have fallen in love here...OVer and Over and OVer again.
ReplyDeleteIt's called peanut butter and company and they serve over 20 different peanut putter sandwiches.. It's very old school with carrot sticks and potato chips.. I LOVE IT!!
here's the website:http://ilovepeanutbutter.com/sandwichshop

So Cute!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your time in NYC, I can't wait to see what kind of adventures you find. There is so much to do and see here that it's hard to fit it all in. I reccomment to WALK everywhere! even in the snow and cold weather. it is truely the best way to experience the city.
there are some great flee markets. The Garage is an indoor one on 25th street between 6th and 7th ave. it is open on saturday and sundays. go to www.ny.com/shopping/flea for more markets.
there are tons and tons of little cafes and resaurants in the east and west villages.
also there are tons of boutiques for shopping. if you are hear during the week you may be in town during a sample sale or two too. clothingline.com is a good one that has a lot of sample sales.
have fun!
