While there isn't much I miss from college {midterms, finals, all nighters, stress? no thanks} I do miss spring break. It's nice to have time away and just relax. This weekend was the perfect time for a little getaway. Friday night Hanna and I drove down to San Diego to see Lizzie. We stayed up late, drank tea, watched a movie and caught up. Saturday morning we walked to the beach which is 3 blocks from Lizzie's apartment. You can step out on her street and see the ocean!

We walked down to the beach and went to this place called World Famous and had a nice brunch on their enclosed patio. Hanna's friend Kara met up with us and we had such a great time. I loved looking out the window and seeing people walk along the boardwalk and the brave ones getting in the water. The weather was perfect {in the 70s} but I bet the water was cold!
I'm having a love-hate relationship with Daylight Savings time right now. I looove that it's going to stay lighter later, and I know I am going to feel so much move motivated, but I hate how tired I am from waking up early today. As hard as I tried, I couldn't get to bed at my normal time last night and now I'm suffering a bit. I guess the pro will outweigh the con though once I get used to it in a few days! It's starting to feel and look a lot like summer!!

Fun weekend! The brunch looks amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I bet that water was chiiilllly!
Hey :)
ReplyDeleteBetter it starting to look alot like Summer than Christmas ahaha. Daylight Saving time is killing me too (the day goes by fast---so much to do seems like so little time), but being that I'm a MORNING PERSON, 8oclock still seem like 7 for me....I've actually got more sleep. I'm just glad it's not raining. Today, it's 45 degrees, I'll be more than happy when the calendar says March 21st :)
Have a lovely day :)
Sounds like such a fun weekend! I love reunions with friends. Gosh, I miss spring break too! I need one for sure this year! And btw, I had the worst time getting out of bed this morning and almost missed my 9am meeting- yikes! Have a great monday!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
Looks like a wonderful weekend away. I love staying up late with girlfriends, drinking tea, watching movies...
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about Daylight Savings, too. I adore the longer, lighter evenings, but this morning was HELL! (and my boys took hours to fall asleep last night, so getting them up and ready for my first day back at work today was so. not. fun.) We'll be used to it in a few days, and so grateful for it, I'm sure!
Your trip looks so fun! I would do just about anything for a trip to Cali right about now!
ReplyDeleteAww, Spring Break! I need a girl's getaway soon!
ReplyDeletethts so great tht u came down here.. which beach is tht la jolla?

ReplyDeleteI'm with you on Daylight Savings Time...I keep feeling like I need to take a nap. Who on earth knew that a mere hour could completely throw off your schedule?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a fabulous weekend, Mara; and can I just say that the girl in the first picture - all the way to the left, with the brown hair (Hanna, I think) - looks so much like Cordelia from the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." :)
Gah it's so beautiful there. I sure miss San Diego sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks (and sounds) like you had a wonderful weekend! I wish our weather would warm up a little.

ReplyDeleteeven though i technically had a spring break, the 9-5 sort of internship made it not really feel like it! this looks like an amazing idea for a little spring break feel! looks like a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh! His name is Scott, and he's tall and probablyyy hit on you while you were there. So funny!
