Matthew brought Ginger a little chicken squeaky toy the other night and she loves it. It's her new favorite one. At first she was scared of it but now I think she's trying to kill with her teeth {or show it love..one or the other}. She's quite the little love bug.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled this morning and oh my goodness! I was so scared. I had a mini panic attack in the doctor's office. I knew everything would be okay, even though there is that slight risk. I was just freaking out about going under. I didn't like that I'd count down from 20 and not get to 0. Not having that control over your body is a little scary. Yes, I know it happens every night when we go to bed but a little different here I think.
Regardless of my nerves, everything was okay. They didn't make me count down, I just remember talking to the nurse, her putting a rubber piece in one jaw and I don't remember her doing it for the next. I woke up, walked to the recovery room, and apparently had a talk with my mom and another nurse about the Dr. De Soto book. I don't remember any of this, or looking at pictures of the nurse's daughter, or tweeting about wanting "froyo and frozen yogurt." I do know those are the same!

This week calls for some R&R and continuing with the house training!
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy your solid, crunchy, hard, foods. I'm jealous over here!

I hope you're not in too much pain! I was miserable for 2 weeks when I got mine out. I didn't think the swelling would ever go down!
ReplyDeleteI love Doctor De Soto. They totally tricked that fox!
ReplyDeleteHope it's a quick recovery, Mara. Happy Weekend!
xo
you and i are the same person! before I went under I was panicking a lot and it felt sitting in the chair waiting for them to put me under for a lifetime!! then my heart started pounding intensely and that's the last thing i remember... anyway i hope you have a fast recovery!! and enjoy anyone wanting to pamper you :)
ReplyDeleteAww I need to get mine done and SO am NOT looking forward too it..
ReplyDeleteyour dogs cute.
Oh my god! So cute!! I hope you have a nice weekend with a lot of froyo!! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a weekend of recovery and R&R!
ReplyDelete:) Marcie
Oofff I hope your recovery goes well! I did a lot of weird stuff after I got my wisdom teeth out too. My 19 year old self kept telling me my mom how drunk I was & that I needed to call my roommate. HEY, at least I was being responsible & looking for a DD! haha :)
ReplyDeleteEat smoothies & ice cream like it's going out of style & take the opportunity to let Matthew baby you for a few days!
My goodness that is hilarious about your recovery. I don't really remember anything. They told my husband I would be ready to go at 3 but come 3:45 I was still asleep. They knocked me out reall good!
ReplyDeleteFeel better love, and eat lots of frozen yogurt and popsicles and ... ice cubes? No, never mind the icecubes just eat frozen yogurt!! LOTS OF FROZEN YOGURT and your little dog is ADORABLE! This video just made me go ohhh awwwww AHHHHH!!! so so cute!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Ouch! Enjoy all the froyo - hope you can move back onto solids soon!
ReplyDeleteHope you will have a fun weekend with you sweet new puppy and enjoy the sun!Kisses
ReplyDeleteoooh sweet sweet!!
ReplyDeleteI had 2 teeth removed last year with local anesthesia. hahha, freaky, it didnt really hurt but I could feel how he was pulling and pulling, yikes!! I has to take a tranquilizer beforehand because i was too nervous... the nurse took my hand when the doctor was injecting the anesthetic, Im so scared of needles, and I thought that was the worse part!
well, glad you are done with it.
Enjoy the weekend sweetheart xoxoxo
Ginger is the cutest! I have to get mine out eventually but I keep putting it off.
ReplyDeletehaha that's really funny. i was TERRIFIED of being put under too, but my experience wasn't so bad. just be careful with the pain pills (if you got any)- I stopped taking mine and they gave me withdrawal symptoms. It was awful. I hope you're having a lovely time with your little puppy! Feel better :)
ReplyDeleteYour dog is super cute. Have a great weekend and hope you will feel better soon.....
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh your puppy is SOOOO cute!!! I want one!
ReplyDeleteWisdom teeth are no fun, but hopefully you have a fast recovery!!
oh man :(
ReplyDeletei had my wisdom teeth out in March. it hurts a lot but it will be over soon! enjoy the milkshakes and pudding! xoxo
p.s frozen peas against the jaw help A LOT!
That video's the cutest thing, aww!!! And I'm glad everything went OK with your wisdom teeth! I've never been put out so I'm terrified of the need arising!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear everything went alright with your wisdom teeth! I have to get mine out June 8 - I'm freaking out!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE GINGER. What a cutie. I got dry socket when I got mine out...it was the WORST. Whatever you do, stay with the fro yo (and the frozen yogurt ;) ). Like 3 days after getting them out I decided I was ready to eat a crusty steak and cheese sandwich. WRONG.
ReplyDeleteOh man... just never watch the movie Awake. It'll freak you out about going under.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I also did the same thing. I calle dmy mom and don't remember doing so. The dentist had come in and was trying to tell me things to remember to do at home and my mom was like oh why don't you call me later and I just kept talking and talking!
ReplyDeleteaww, her reaction to the squeak was so cute!
ReplyDeletei still have all four of my wisdom teeth (three are impacted) and the one that came through the other year causes A LOT of pain at times, but i'm too scared to have them taken out. i don't want big painful holes in my gums!
hope you're feeling better!! ginger will give you lots of cuddles! your tweet was hilarious! when i went under i told the nurse that i don't need a lot to put put out and then i woke up. it was actually pretty cool but scary too. remember no straws!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of giving up control either... I hope you're not in too much pain, love. Just remember to swish with that yucky stuff they give you and you'll be fine in no time! Until then, make sure to enjoy lots of Popsicles and ice cream and get lots of rest :)

ReplyDeleteso glad everything went well!....and hope you heal quickly!
ReplyDeletehave fun with that puppy!
xo
I hope you recover soon. I remember spending a full day watching Disney movies on my couch and leaving the doctor's office looking like a chipmunk after I got mine removed.
ReplyDeleteHave fun being Ginger's mom!
Hope :) xx
Hope you feel better. I love the silliness that happens while induced with various anaesthetic drugs!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. I suggest lots of Mac and Cheese. I lived off it when I had mine removed.
ReplyDeleteEeee! Here's hoping for a quick recovery. I haven't had mine taken out (yet) but I can only guess that it's horrible. When you can eat normal food again...indulge.
ReplyDeleteYour puppy is so cute!
oooo dentists, poor them no one likes them, my last wisdom tooth got taken out while i was awake, he split my lip at the corner trying to get my mouth open wide enough, he was practically sittting on my chest as well to get the right levarage!!
ReplyDeleteHope your mouth calms down :)
i hope you have a wonderful and speedy recovery! your puppy is adorable

good luck resting up and getting all healed!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I got mine out a group of my good friends came over with a bunch of smoothie mixes for me to eat. I love good friends. And I love the random talks you find yourself having with no recollection of them. I hope you have some good friends (or boyfriend) to take care of you!
ReplyDeleteRachael

ReplyDeleteyour ginger is unbelievably cute! i have an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed next week too! i'm really nervous, but so happy to hear that yours went smoothly!
ReplyDeleteAww, Ginger is TOO cute!!!
ReplyDeletePoor you having your wisdom teeth out... dental surgery is the worst.
Just imagine how good your first proper meal will taste though :)

oooh my goodness your puppy is PRECIOUS!!! I'm at work and that video definitely perked me up for a Work-filled Monday. Have a Great week!
ReplyDelete~Bevin
That dog is the cutest! puppies are the best. I want one bad.
ReplyDeletegood luck on your recovery. my mom is a dental hygenist so she took good care of me after having them out. I remember I woke up from a nap after getting home and they were bleeding more than the guaze could handle. I was so scared I started screaming for her. she walked in, laughed and gave me new guaze. hehe
xo Kirby
Ginger is adorable! I love your accent too!
ReplyDeleteSucks about your wisdom teeth. I remember when I got out I kept taking my hard core pain killers every four hours "like the doctor told me too". I made it through the entire box before Mum was all, "Why are you so tired all the time? ... OMG, have you had all your medication?!" Turns out I was supposed to start weaning myself off them after about two days, haha. Oops?
I hope you feel better soon!
x Jasmine
hope you recover soon. the pain meds really helped me a whole lot. i was making up raps and singing to my brother in law when i got mine out. he still brings it up til this day....
ReplyDeleteGinger is such a cutie pie.
aw! to both you and cutey-pie ginger. i love wisdom teeth stories because they all involve people doing/saying things they don't remember. and yes, they also always involve scary feelings. i think that's totally understandable to be freaked out about going under. i would be too! but i'm so happy for you that it's over with and now you can eat froyo and frozen yogurt as much as you want. :) also, your puppy is the cutest!
ReplyDeleteI have to get my wisdom teeth out like 10 years ago (yeah I haven't done it yet) and I'm SO scared. I hope you heal up quickly.
ReplyDeleteGinger is SO CUTE!!! Good luck with the housetraining!
Oh my goodness! Ginger is the cutest thing ever :) Hope you're not tired of the squeaky toy yet ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Ginger is the cutest thing ever :) Hope you're not tired of the squeaky toy yet ;o)
ReplyDeleteOur dog doesn't like chewing on things! It's bittersweet. We are glad she doesn't chew on our stuff but we wish she would play more!
ReplyDeleteWhen I got my wisdom teeth out I was so out of it! I remember crying when I woke up, lol. It took me a while to recover but it sounds like yours wasn't as traumatic.
Hope you're feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I'm the worst, I kept forgetting to e-mail you my tips from when I got them pulled a few months ago. My tips, if they still help are, make sure you use your syringes a lot, like for weeks to make sure that food is out of there as they close up, and don't use a straw for the life of you! Oh, and don't eat things with seeds for a while because they are super easy to get caught back there. I hope yours wasn't too bad. Did you get all 4 pulled? I hope you heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteI got mine pulled last year, and I too freaked out big time. I think what made it worse was hearing everyone else's horror stories about pain and unhealed holes. Though it really was not that bad, and I am much happier without the extra teeth!
ReplyDeleteGinger is sooooo cute!! LOVE her! Enjoy the froyo! I was all about it when I got mine pulled!
ReplyDeleteAww Mara I hope you are feeling better! I am petrified of the dentist too and have to go In for 3 fillings next Wednesday :(
ReplyDeleteHow are you feeling now?
ReplyDeleteEveryone made such a huge deal to me about getting wisdom teeth out, but it wasn't even as bad as having them in.
Are you sore?
Hope you feel better soon!
How adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
OH MY GOD I AM GOING TO STEAL HER FROM YOU AND SNUGGLE HER FOREVERRRRRR.
ReplyDeleteshe is seriously adorable. i love how she carries the chicken around, just because she can. i hope she enjoys the squeaky toys while she's still allowed to have them - a few months down the road and she'll be banned from squeaky toys for life because she'll devour every one within five minutes. (ahhh, the joy of big dogs ... )
She is so adorable and I hope you are feeling better from getting your wisdom teeth pulled!
