ginger's first bath

May 31, 2010

We want Ginger to get used to water so we're trying to give her bi-monthly baths. She was so confused when we put her in the water. She stood really still at first and then started whimpering and tried to climb out. It wasn't that bad once we put on the shampoo, which smelled amazing by the way. It had a very herbal smell like rosemary that was so relaxing. I almost wish I could put it in my hair!

{my mom helped}

{ignore my messy bathroom}

Ginger is getting cuter and bigger every day! When we got her she weighed almost 7lbs and now she weighs a little over 8! I'm so curious to see how big she'll get and what she'll look like!

I hope you all are having a relaxing Memorial Day!

  2. Aw, how cute! Monte isn't a huge fan of baths but luckily we get him groomed so we don't bathe him too often. Still, it's not a fun situation, hehe.

  7. So sweet. Love her in towel, she looks so tiny!

    Whenever I give my dogs a bath, the big dog always helps me dry the little dog. It is pretty cute.

  10. I loveee wet puppies! They're so cute! I also tried to get Abby (my golden) used to different things when she was little. I'd pet her and hold her while she ate, especially her head and nose, so she'd be used to it and wouldn't snap at anyone who tried to touch her while she was eating.

  15. This reminds me of Nix's first bath :) He just kind of stood there looking terrified the whole time. So adorable!

    How old is Ginger now? If she's around 8-ish weeks and she's 8-ish lbs, she'll probably top out at about 40-50 lbs. Nix was 11 lbs. at six weeks and he's now a 60 lb. beast :)

  46. Dogs are so picky about water. We have one that loves to go swimming and we have one that loves it about half the time! I bet giving Ginger baths regularly will help with that, though! xo
