I can't believe that last night was the Series Finale of LOST. I'm really going to miss that show. I think it was one of the greatest shows with the best character development, mystery, suspense, action, romance, comedy; it really had it all! I started watching it during a summer I was home from college. My mom and brother were in Germany and my dad and I rented Season 1. We seriously spent hours and hours in front of the TV. It was just so good; we'd finish an episode and have to start the next one. We were two seasons behind and it didn't take long to catch up. Although when we did, we missed the ability to skip through commercials and watch the next episode right away.
Last night was both sad and happy. I couldn't help crying at the end. Just seeing Jack lie on the grass at the end of the episode, dying, made me hurt a little. Even though "everyone is already dead" it still made me so sad. I don't want this show to go but I'm so glad they wrapped everything up like they did. I was so happy that everyone was together and happy. And of course Jack and Kate was the best thing ever. Did any of you watch? What did you think?

It was a sweet ending having them all together. I nearly cried when Sawyer and Juliet reunited. :)
ReplyDeleteI purposely did not read your post because I haven't seen it yet BUT I wanted to make a comment because I freakin love that picture. Okay, now to avert my eyes.
ReplyDeleteMara, I'm a HUGE Lost fan!!! I loved the ending last night and think they did a great job wrapping everything up as well. I was so happy everyone was back together and SO excited about Jack and Kate. All my girlfriends and I were crying too, you weren't alone! :)
ReplyDeletei totally felt complete watching Kate and Jack kiss. omg.
ReplyDeletenot sure about everything else though... bitter sweet ending for me/I still feel confused... lol
You should have seen Marc and I when we rented season 1 and 2 ... it was over Christmas a couple of years ago and we literally did not leave the house. It was the first show that really got me hooked. The finale made me sad to think there would be no more Kate, Sawyer, Hurly, Claire, Jack ... all of them. Enjoy your Monday and let me know if there is any other good shows to watch ?! XO
ReplyDeleteI think I might have been the only person on the planet that didn't watch Lost! So sad when a favorite show goes off the air though:(
ReplyDeleteI never watched it and am sorry I missed IT ALL! But I guess now I can rent it!

I don't watch but I know thousands of people are feeling the same thing you are. It's all I've heard about on FB and the blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch it, but my little brother got up at 5am today to watch it before work! xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Lost since the first season but I heard so many mixed reviews about the final episode. I'm glad that you like it though!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm right there with you! It's my favorite show right now, and likely of all time. So amazing.
ReplyDeleteI was deeply satisfied with the ending. I have a few lingering questions, but certainly nothing that I can't live with.
I'm working on a finale reactions post, but I have lots of other Lost related stuff over at my blog, if you have a chance to check it out. (Including a picture of my friend who just met Josh Holloway!)
Ohhh...I can’t believe it ended....Ohh what a great show! They did a great job with the ending. I agree :)
ReplyDeleteKisses and enjoy your day...What will we watch now?
Muah my darling
It made me soooooooo sad:( But I'm really happy with the ending, and I kind of guessed it a few episodes back. Hope you had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am bittersweet about the ending...I think they wrapped up the charactor development, but I wish they had addresses the allure of the island, which is what really drew in the viewers from the beginning...and im confused about Loch's charactor...I mean, technically he was dead, and it was the man in black/smoke monster creating a human form that LOOKED like Loche...but all along, Loche's body had been buried or left on the beach long ago.
ReplyDeleteSo when he all of a sudden lost his immortality it confused me...because he wasn't just immortal, he was dead...and they showed a dead Loche, not a dead man in black or a dead smoke monster. It could have been more interesting if he disintigrated into black smoke or something rather than just show a dead form....ok maybe im reading too much into it...but it was a bit of a dissapoint to me, with a lot of loose ends that were ignored.
In other news...PS-im having a giveaway on my blog for a beautiful carafe :)
Would you believe I've never seen a single episode of Lost in my life? I know I know haha. I need to go back to the beginning and rent season 1.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is so amazing to me!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the final show b/c I have never watched the show a lot. Seems like it was always on when I was working or something. Now I wish I had because I don't know what's going on. Sure seems like everyone is going to miss this show!!
now that lost is over, i think i just might start from the beginning and see it for the first time. everyone is so into lost-now i'm starting to wonder what i'm missing.
ReplyDeleteI HATE when shows end.
I cried (balled embarrassingly) when Arrested Development ended and when Pushing Daisies ended. I just LOVE Lee Pace. He reminds me of my hubby.
cheers Doll!
I really loved it- I think they did us (viewers) and the characters justice. Was seriosuly bawling at the end... I feel even a little teary thinking about it today! I want to watch the finale again w/ no commercials too...
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch last night so I could go through and watch the whole series all at once. I tried to watch it every so often when it was on, because I usually had school the night it was on, but it seems like you are utterly confused if you do that, so now that it's done I'll have to start it all from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteHuge LOST fan....i am really gonna miss it, little sad it's over though!
ReplyDeleteI never really watched it but I love that picture :)
ReplyDeleteI cried buckets over the finale last night! I was actually almost sobbing at the end (which, by the way, though it was incredibly sad, was also very fitting). Just thinking about it sitting here at the computer makes me tear up!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of Kate and Jack. It makes me happy :)
So many tears! So fulfilling! And as cheesy as it sounds, the world feels a little different without a new LOST episode to watch!
ReplyDeleteI think so many are Lost without LOST! :) I too watched the whole event last night with the 2 hour re-cap and then 2 1/2 hour finale and the Jimmy Kimmel Aloha Lost special...it was a LOST-filled evening and my unexpected love feels the same as you...he loved that show, I only started watching this season after lots of catching up! :) I wonder what the next big TV phenomena will be!
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
I LOVE Lost too and tevo'd the final episode for tonight. I love this picture also. I hate change, and losing this show makes me sad. I just love Kate, Jack, Sawyer, all of them! Great picture.
ReplyDelete:) Marcie
Yeah - Dustin and I watched all the previous seasons between around May of last year and the beginning of this last season. We were ADDICTED.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that although I enjoyed seeing old characters I for some reason do not feel satisfied. I don't know why! I wish I could figure it out because I want to be happy with the way it ended. But right now I'm just not and that makes me sad.
So sad to say goodbye to this series! :( It was incredible. Although, very disapointed with the ending....just felt like it was a feel good way of avoiding all the questions...oh well. Cheers to the best show!
ReplyDeleteapparently now you have to "let go" too... or that's what the producers say ;) right! I just watched it and im still trying to assimilate everything, will definitely miss it! and OMG, I cried (almost) with all the memories coming back!
ReplyDeleteJack and Kate. Hundred percent. I cried at various points. And the way that you started watching LOST is quite like how I did; my siblings and I caught up on 5 seasons in two months. It was sick.

I loved it! I'm leading a discussion at work about the finale in 30 minutes. And I totally cried too, especailly when Vincent came.
ReplyDeleteLoved the end! Not sure if they want us to believe that they were all always "dead" or just died after a while or what but I don't really care. It was a great ending. And yes for Jack and Kate! :) And girl, ha, I cried when I saw Jack on the ground, too. Just had to.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday.
P.s. what are we gonna do now?!! There's no more Lost?!
i've only seen about ten minutes of one of the first episodes, which of course was years ago... so basically i have no idea what anyone is talking about, haha! ;) but it's definitely a bummer when one of your favourite shows ends, it's so bittersweet!
ReplyDeleteSad to say that I've never seen an episode of LOST. The way everyone is talking about it though I might just have to add it to my Netflicks!
ReplyDeleteloved it. i might go back and watch it ALL over again (i miss the first 3 seasons especially). i will always love that show.
ReplyDeleteand kate's biceps and hair will always cause me envy.
totally NEVER watched it. not even once. Because i'm afraid if i started i wouldn't stop and there really just isn't enough time in the dayto be addicted to another tv show! :) atleast not in my day..
ReplyDeletetears were STREAMING the whole time! that is a great photo of kate and jack, by the way.
ReplyDeletei completely agree, lost was more than a survival show, it spoke to me about people and forgiveness and... well, i blogged about it too, so i won't go on forever.
but yes, i thought\ the ending was excellent.
i still haven't seen a single episode! i am really behind the times here... i'll have to rent all the seasons and watch them marathon style!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad its over :( what am I going to do on Tuesday nights??
ReplyDeleteOh Mara, I thought I was the only one who cried. I will miss the show. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat's how I felt when SATC ended...lost. Pun intended. HA!
ReplyDeleteI know, I will miss all the crazy twists to the show!
ReplyDeleteAHHHHH you should have labeled this with a spoiler alert!!!! it's ok though... after the season finale of the first season i was sooo creeped out, i COULD NOT watch anymore of it (also had to have my mom check for monsters in my closet for a whole week afterwards)...
ReplyDeletei am sad too!
ReplyDeletei will miss the cast so much!
i love hurley i just wanna hug him!
i didn't read the whole post just in case there was a spoiler :P i haven't seen the last ep yet! can't wait! i LOVE lost :D :D :D x
ReplyDeletePerfect and beautiful ending! I cried rivers! Nothing will ever compare to Lost. What do we do with our time now?!
ReplyDeleteMan I never watched any of it! I feel like I really missed out because people seem to really love it. There is always TV on DVD in which I am a huge fan of. Sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteRachael
holy heck.. LOST!!!
ReplyDeleteah!! i've been with this show since season one and last night was so hard to watch!!! i bawled like a baby. and that fact that the season opened with jacks eyes opening and ended with his eyes closing was really awesome. and it was so beautiful that he didn't die alone and the dog came beside him. i loved that!
i absoulutly adore ur blog <3

Surprisingly enough (being the TV junkie that I am), I've never watched Lost. For some reason the show never appealed to me..
ReplyDeleteOh Lost, I cried so many times when we watched it - every time when another couple remembered and reunited.
ReplyDeleteI was also annoyed that the island itself wasn't addressed, but the characters, the relationship - the producers really brought that together nicely.
My husband has said we're watching the entire show again so I won't miss it too much!
I always cry when my favorite shows end! Shouldn't they just go on and on...
ReplyDeleteBTW I think Ginger is ADORABLE!! The best tip I have for potty training a puppy is to set an alarm timer to go off like every two hours or so and as soon as it does put her on the lead and take her outside. This worked when my doggie was a puppy -- he's German Shepherd and a very big guy now so I'm thrilled that the potty training worked! :)

I'm a big LOST fan too. I have mixed feelings about the finale, still trying to sort it out. But I agree that the show changed the face of TV. I will miss my weekly fix of the island and all its inhabitants:(

ReplyDeleteI did hope for more, but I was happy that they ended up together in the end. The scene with Jack and Vincent pretty much broke me. Loved Sawyer and Juliet, too.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Jack and Kate didn't really ring true for me. I am going to miss this show something fierce!
I'm going to miss the show soo much! When I think about other shows, LOST was just on its own level. It was sad to say goodbye to it.
ReplyDeletei watched the very first episode when it premiered years ago and was immediately hooked. i'll miss it so much too! what a thrilling, mind-blowing, romantic, thought-provoking show! i loved the ending too. it was kind of perfect - giving you a bit of closure, but allowing some questions to linger, in true lost form. sniff!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Beautiful images...lovely dress!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm the only person in the world who didn't watch this show. Somehow I missed the first few episodes and then I was so behind and never tried again. But I've been wanting to put the first season on my netflix list and start from the beginning. I know if everyone else loves it so much, I will too. Hope you had a great weekend!

i was SO sad to see it end. There will never be a show like it. My favorite part was when Sawyer was at the candy machine with Juliet... WOW. that's when i lost it!
ReplyDeleteand when Jack had that conversation with his father and said out loud what i had truly figured all along... it was such a great moment.
ooh and when richard had that grey hair! and BEN AND LOCKE-- oh goodness, that was SUCH a touching part.
and epic show xoxo
I can't believe it's over! I thought the last episode was great, the parts where they remembered were amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo yeah...I've never seen a single episode of LOST. In fact, I have no clue what it's even about. Please don't hate me. :P
ReplyDeleteHaha Erika that made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI watched a couple of episodes when Lost first started but i just kind of never got around to seeing it all, i did like it, but the problem i forget what night it is then miss one episode, then before you know it you've missed i season!
However this is totally one of those series that i'm going to watch back to back. One Day. When i have time :)
I couldn't read your post until this morning because I just watched the finale last night!! I thought they did a great job ending it, and my eyes welled up at so many different parts... It will be sad not to follow those characters anymore :(
ReplyDeleteI have been depressed all week knowing this show is over. What ever will replace it??????
ReplyDeletei think i'm the only person who never saw it...but i'd still like to know how it ended
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about Lost but was dying to know who ended up with who romantically, glad Kate and Jack ended up together, so sweet. I kind of had the hunch about them already being dead and I will miss the show!
ReplyDeleteBy the way thanks for your sweet comment and I grabbed your button and stuck it up at my blog, yay! ;)
I loved it!
ReplyDeleteMy brother already said he wants to watch the whole Lost seasons again, an I want it too, just before the fifth we watched the previous ones, and I guess I'll love to watch everything again. Lost passed on the TV along ages, so looks like the characters and the stories make part of our lives, we discuss it like if a scene was an episode that happened to us, with naturalist. I'm going to miss it, as I am going to miss other which will end someday... At least we always can buy the season as watch as much as we can. I'm sure in the future we will talk about Lost to your grandchildren like one of the best TV series of this time, and they will think we are a bore *ah ah*
You have an amazing blog!
Love from Portugal,
Joana
I'v been staying away from blog because I didn't want Lost ruined for me, but I watched it last night and oh my gosh. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI saw the ending as the people who made it off the island (Kate, Claire, Sawyer etc) lived full, long lives. But, when they died they came back to the time of the flight to be able to reconnect with the people they cared about most (Jack, Charlie, Juliet etc). So, the parallel storyline of them being off the island was their journey of acceptance and finding each other again. I think some people saw it as they all died in the first crash though? I don't know. How did you see it?
