It's been a year since I graduated college
since I left the Bay Area
since I moved out of a house with all my closest friends.
How has it already been a year?
Everyone says the first year out of college goes by the fastest and I so agree.
These pictures seem like they were taken the other week!
can you spot me?
the most beautiful flowers from Matthew
with Mal at my graduation dinner
sunburned after a long day in the sun
The things I miss from Berkeley include:
Dates in San Francisco
living with Mal, one of my best friends
and working with her, having classes with her
and watching Gossip Girl with her.
{bff time 24/7}
all the amazing restaurants and cafes
having extended family so close-by
Things I don't miss so much include:
studying all the time and stressing about classes
living 45 minutes away from Matthew
living 6 hours away from my family
Of course I wish a year later I was in a different place career-wise
But otherwise I am so happy to be where I am.
Thank you everyone for all your puppy tips! They've definitely come in handy. I'm so happy that Ginger didn't cry last night in her crate and she's on her way to being potty trained. So far {knock on wood} no incidents in the house! I'm hoping to keep in that way although it's only to be expected!
xox

Update: She just had her first accident in the house. oopsie I guess I spoke too soon!

ReplyDeleteYou know, I thought about to write a blog about my college times and believe it or not, since I am getting oh so old...it was 9 years ago that I graduated and this year when the date rolled around, on May 13th, it hit me that I had been out that long and I couldn't believe where they time had gone...it starts going so quickly, but feels like yesterday! :)
I was recently going through pictures from my college years and going to scan some in and I love your idea of writing out the things you miss so that you can look back one day and remember those fun times and memories!
It is wonderful to see you doing so well and so happy a year later and I have a feeling you will be in the years ahead as you grow and gain new memories you will one day miss as well! :)
Sending you smiles for a Wonderful Wednesday!
Liesl :)

ReplyDeleteOh, now you make me want to go through my graduation photos. I don't think I have ever posted them. hmm, perhaps I will. Yeah, I agree the last year has gone by really fast...and sadly I wish I was different career wise too, but life is good.

College was such a great time - the new experiences and proximity of great friends. Hope your adventures these days are great too!

I love your tropical dress! I graduated 3 years ago and it seems so long ago, glad you have your fam and boy near by, even though I know the feeling of missing friends!
ReplyDeleteawe what great memories!! <333 congrats!
ReplyDeleteohmygosh the first year goes by quickly! good luck in this second year! xox
ReplyDeleteyou looked absolutely gorgeous and radiant at your graduation. who cares if you are not where you want to be with your career (me too, maybe i'm biased!) one year is really not so long in the whole scheme of things and taking a little time to do fun things and just enjoy life is probably really good for your health and well being. you and matthew are such a lovely couple, i like how your eyes sort of match and that tiny braid in your hair looked so pretty. i do those all the time but mine always look super messy!
ReplyDeleteby the way your puppy is sooooooo cute and cuddly and spunky. congrats on such a nice new companion!
The time really does fly, doesn't it? It's crazy. I graduated almost 4 years ago and it still feels like it was only yesterday I was at Uni!
ReplyDeletex Jasmine

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way and I've been out of college for 2 years. Where does the time go?! I wish I was in a different place career-wise as well. But hardly anyone I know is doing what their degree is in! :D
