I couldn't resist wearing a little denim on denim over the weekend! It's kinda fun to wear the same material but slightly different. It's also really comfortable! I found this shirt at a Goodwill last month for $3 and I couldn't say no. I really couldn't see myself spending $25+ for a new one when I'm not sure how often I'll wear it. But now that I think of it..this shirt could look equally cute tucked into a floral skirt. Maybe I'll try that tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteI generally don't like denim on denim, because most people either don't do it right or cannot pull it off, or both.
ReplyDeleteBut you did an excellent job! kept it simple, used two different tones and added some cool accessories - Good outfit!
Just found your blog and you are adorable! Love your style! ~Liz

ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! I recently bought a chambray shirt and have been wearing it over floral dresses as a light jacket (since it's been so cold here lately!). I'll have to try it with jean shorts sometime.
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you thought I was waiting in line for Eclipse! HAHA!! Oddly enough I do want to see the movie since I read the books, but I'll probably wait for it to come out on DVD.

I work at Gap and denim on denim is (supposedly according to company marketing and our huge chambray push during the spring) *the thing* now. I can't believe that shirt is from Goodwill! It looks like something we sold for $54.50 last month! Love it!

You TOTALLY rock the denim on denim look, Mara; I, on the other hand, am not sure how it would look on me - thus the reason I have never tried it myself. I think denim on denim can be a hit or miss; it definitely depends on the wearer. :)

ReplyDeleteCan't say I would have ever tried it before, but you are rockin the denim on denim! You look great! :)
ReplyDeleteit depends on what kind of denim. i mean the shade of colors and the style. because some denim on denim looks too much. but i have to say look really great denim on denim. i mean....u really pulled it off. not many can do it. btw, ur shoes look really fabulous

Love the look! You can pull off the denim on denim so well - I think I prefer the shorts to jeans, keeping the denim from being too much denim!

You completely pull it off. I was never really a fan (though I did wear a denim jacket and jeans back when I was a young teen)...
ReplyDeleteBut you really suit it. x
I've never really been a fan of denim on denim, but it works on you! My younger brother used to wear a denim jacket with denim jeans all the time. We called it his Canadian Tuxedo ... which is a quote from 'Super Troopers', but I'm sure t also has some sort of cultural reference, haha.
ReplyDeletex Jasmine
