When Elizabeth was in town the other week we got together with our other bestie Hanna to see Sex and the City 2. Before the show we got some drinks and a quick bite to eat at The Farm of Beverly Hills. It was a sunny LA afternoon so we sat outside. I love when the weather is like this!

Cornbread Muffins
Warm Pear and Brie Sandwich on Toasted Raisin Walnut Bread with Sweet Potato Fries
We weren't expecting the movie to be amazing {or better than the series}, but I think it could have been a little better. Did any of you see it? What did you think?

Mara,
ReplyDeleteSweet potato fries are my favorite! What did you think of the movie? I have yet to see it.
xo Marcie
I personally hated the movie but I'm all for drinks with girlfriends!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet... Heck, I haven't even seen the first one yet! But lunch looks absolutely delicious, and you all look gorgeous!

That food looks so good! I'm really thinking of not seeing the movie after so many bad reviews.
ReplyDeleteYou know I haven't seen it. I have not watched the series. The whole series is just a turn off for me I guess. Sorry it was a bit of a disappointment! It looks like a fun hang out with the girls though!

it's nice to watch sex and the city with your girlfriends..personally, i don't really like sex and the city two. the story could have been better. some of the clothes they wore was really hideous looking. but that's just my opinion. i feel the 1st one was way better.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see it but that food looks amazing! Wow- who knew sweet potato fries could look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law took me out for dinner and SATC 2 with her friends Tuesday night. Because so many people told me that the movie wasn't that great, my expectation was really low. Therefore, I didn't think it was all that bad! Yes, it could have been a little better, but I laughed a lot. Still those two movies can't beat the TV series..
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
ReplyDeletex Robine
I haven't seen it yet :( But maybe someday! You girls look fab!
ReplyDeletehow fun :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Mara--now I'm starving! Haha, I haven't seen it but I heard it was worse even than the first. Sorry to hear it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, food porn in the extreme! I'm hungry now. Lovely dresses too.
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures. It's always good to have a girls' night/day out and then hit the movies.
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie. It was alright. I actually thought it was a little better than the first, then again I've read so many bad reviews my expectations were low. However both movies can never ever top the series! :)
Have a great day Mara.
xoxo
ohh yummy yummy Mara, what a fun way to watch it!!
ReplyDeleteSounds (and looks) like a fun time -- and that sandwich looks absolutely yummy!!

I feel like the only person that hasn't watched it yet :(
ReplyDeleteThe food looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI definitely thought it would be better. I was just saying that I think if they kept Aidan a surprise, it would have been HUGE. Like you would have just heard a GASP around the world, but they ruined that since you were able to predict what was going to happen.
I laughed at some parts, I've loved Samantha and always will but I found most of it to be way too predictable.
Oh man! That sandwich looks soooooooo good! Oh and I love that shade of nail polish you are sporting.
ReplyDeleteYou girls look so pretty and I agree...It could be better but I loved the outfits:) The girls always will be girls for me:) Have a wonderful day and see you soon:)
ReplyDeleteMuah
Mara, I haven't seen it, but I haven't heard great things about it. I think I'll just stick with the TV show :)
ReplyDeleteps. Thanks so much for your kind words about my shop! It really means a lot to me :) ♥♥
You ladies are so chic! So I actually hated the movie and found it to be quite racist. I loved the show and thought the first movie was okay, a nice finish to the whole story. This movie felt like too much and it actually made me despise all the characters except Miranda - she was decent in the film. And that is my review!
ReplyDeleteYour food looks amazing!!! I haven't seen it yet but from what I've heard and reading this, I'm not expecting much.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are SO cute. I just keep the movies separate from the series. I just think, "this is a new movie that happens to have these characters that resemble the SATC girls," but for me it all stops when Carrie comes back from Paris and we find out Mr. Big is John Preston!
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen it yet but I still want to! That sandwich looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a lot of fun and yummy food!
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't already, I hope you will enter my giveaway for a chance to win a J Crew pearl bracelet at petitegorgeous.blogspot.com
That food is making my mouth water. I was hungry already but that looks DELISH!
ReplyDeletethe fashion was great..but lil overboard right? overall the movie was a-ok
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love the Farm. Looks like you girls had a lot of fun! I felt the same way about the movie. I had low expectations and I did enjoy it, but definitely thought it could have been better.

LOVE The Farm!
ReplyDeleteYou ladies all looked fabulous!
Yum! That looks so tasty. We had martinis before seeing the movie too. Love nights out with the girls!
ReplyDeletegoing out with girlfriends is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cute! I actually liked this movie better than the first one, but neither come close to comparing with the series.
ReplyDeletei saw it too! and it was good for what it was. the girls, vaca, clothes, crazy hair...but it made me sick when her and aiden were "flirting" i ove aiden and all bt i hate ceaters!

I saw it just last week. It was better than I expected. I heard some bad reviews so I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised.

YUM. my girl friends told me Sex and the City 2 is good.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the movie & I'm not sure if I will, but it looks like you had a great time with your girlfriends! That sandwich looks incredible! YUM :)
ReplyDeleteyeaa the first movie was better than #2 for sure!
ReplyDeletealthough that's not true for all sequels bc toy story 3 was amaaaazing!
sweet tater fries are amazing. like little donuts...
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! I love The Farm and The Grove- it's a win win there! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAh, that food looks amazing; and the three of you look GORG!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet; but hearing that it takes place away from the City completely upsets me. How can you be "Sex and the City" without the City?! :(
Both of you look lovely!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the first one, but the second one was just lacking. Between the inappropriate middle eastern stereotypes and the lack-lustre plot, I was less than impressed. I did enjoy the fashion and her new amazing apartment!! And of course, it was fun to go giggle with a girlfriend, so I guess it wasn't all bad :)
ReplyDeletei agree - it could have been a bit better but i loved it still.
ReplyDeletethis weather!!!! it is the best!!! i just love the 70-80 degree weather and do NOT want it to get hotter!
ReplyDeleteand that food looks amazing!
i think i'll wait to see that movie on dvd. none of the reviews have made me want to spring for a movie ticket.
I liked it but I didn't think it was as good as the first.
ReplyDeleteYou go to some great restaurants! Looks like a fun girl date!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was absolutely awful! I wasn't expecting a whole lot - and I understand SATC for SATC's sake, but even still....
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good summer!
You know how to LIVE LIFE!!! I love it!!! XO
ReplyDeleteI love the new seating across from the theater at that place! Perfect place to people watch : )
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich looks insane! Left you something on my blog.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun place to grab a bite! you look gorge and the food is making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteis it embarrassing that i really loved the movie? i think it was just, i'd do anything for those characters -- as neurotic as they are. you look beautiful, as usual. glad you enjoyed the day, movie bust or not! xo, h
ReplyDeleteSuper fun and oh so classy...I love it, Mara!
ReplyDeleteI have been offline for 2 weeks, but wanted to stop by and let you know I love all the pics you've been posting and look forward to catching up on each of them!
I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer!
Liesl :)
I didn't go in with expectations, so I appreciated it for the fun scenery, good looking men, and fun clothing! The Lawrence of Arabia joke had me choking I was laughing so hard!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love The Grove for a good drink and movie outing!
xo
lacey
It was about my expectations - the outfits were certainly fun! I did like that they tried to touch on somewhat serious issues, though briefly (I have a friend whose a new mom and so like Charlotte!)
ReplyDeletecute pics! and i still have to watch the movie! i know, i'm so late haha
ReplyDeletexxjess
I was not convinced of the film, he could be better, yes...
ReplyDeleteI'll admit it, I have sill yet to see SATC 2! I'm a little embarrased. Although, the previews do make me want to run away glamorously to the desert. xx
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see the movie! But its on my list!
ReplyDeleteYou girls all look so pretty and that sandwich looks so good! I want it!
youre lookinnn soo cllassyy girll.<3
ReplyDeleteYUM.
ReplyDeleteand agreed, i give the movie a B-.
Oh. My. Gosh. Cornbread muffins?!!!! My mouth is watering already! Haha. That looks like a super fun outing before you went to see the movie. I still need to see it!
ReplyDeleteThat is the same sandwich and french fries I get when I go to The Farm...delish!
ReplyDeleteLiesl :)
you and your friends are so pretty!! still haven't seen satc2.
ReplyDeletethe pre-dinner sounds like such fun and that pear brie sandwich looks so delish!
ReplyDeletewhat a sandwich!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei would like a bite, please!
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich looks so good and I hope you enjoyed the movie, you all look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI had the same reaction to the movie as you, only angrier. I had low expectations--I certainly wasn't expecting a cinematic masterpiece or anything. But I was at least expecting it to not be so offensive and ethnocentric! totally disappointing :(
ReplyDeleteI love all your dog pictures, btw!!
http://www.karisa-tells-all.blogspot.com/
I wasn't a fan of SatC2. I was kinda 'meh' in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich looks amazing!
