what I've learned...

I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since we got Ginger. Here are some examples of how my life has totally changed with her furry little presence:
  • I no longer need an alarm clock since she wakes me up as early as 6 a.m. {used to be 4}
  • I get excited when she does number two
  • Fleas have become my sworn enemies {and if I see one on her I'll chase it to its death}
  • I puppy-proof the house daily, and am constantly looking for her toys
  • Training has become an ongoing task {she knows sit, shake, down, roll over, and stay..kinda}
  • She has gone from 6 lbs to 10.7 lbs!
  • Endless puppy kisses
  • My new favorite thing is making her little mohair into a mohawk or in the above case a Donald Trump comb-over!
  • I have the cutest, most cuddly best friend!
I'm going to Matthew's work today for "Bring Your Dog to Work Day," although Ginger can't come since she hasn't gotten her third round of shots yet! She's getting them Sunday though so we're going to finally be able to go on walks!

  7. My boyfriend and I just got a baby Golden Retriever and we are absolutely in LOVE with him (and I definitely have learned many of the same lessons you have)!   8. She is adorable! Puppies are a life changer. My Mom claims my dogs are more work than kids. They let me over sleep today though so careful on that one ;)

  9. I am right there with you with the life changes because of a dog! We got our dogs right around the same time. I'm so jealous that he has a "Bring your dog to work day"! That's so cool!

  20. She is growing so fast and she is soooo cute:) I love her hair...Ahhh...My dogs are an alarm clock too..Its amazing how they know what time it is...right?

  39. 7 pounds?! Wow your puppy is sooo light! I've never had a dog that small, my doggie weighed a ton when he was a pup and he's only gotten heavier and heavier with age :)
    I kinda wish I could pick him up and hug him sometimes but he'd break my back, lol!

  50. so stinking cute!!! getting a puppy is literally like having a baby. my boyfriend and i had serious issues when i got massimo because he said it was like dating a single mother. haha
    i wish i had a trip to get her to sleep later. massimo, even when he was a puppy, sleeps till sometimes 10 or 11. when i get up in the morning he crawls under the covers and continues to sleep until i force him to get out of bed haha
