Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the Fall in Love Bridal Soirée hosted by the Jenny Yoo Collection. The event was held at The London West Hollywood and I brought my friend Kim along for a night of drinks, cupcakes, and, of course, a fashion show! It was fun to look at the pretty dresses and pick out the ones we would or wouldn't wear. I think I might have been most excited, though, about being able to finally try desserts from Sweet & Saucy Shop! They've been featured all over the place and Matthew's cousin's wife is really close friends with the owner. The cake balls were fantastic! I couldn't believe how moist they were. Although I have no other ones to compare them too, I think they were the best ever!

Highlights of the night included: a fun photo booth, a strange interruption by The Three Waiters {opera singers posing as "real" waiters at the event}, getting a heavy gift bag and being most excited about the lightest thing inside..macarons from Gordon Ramsey's restaurant!
Did any of you go to any bridal events? For me it was more about the experience than anything else. Matthew and I don't really want a "standard/traditional" wedding. We really just want a special and unique celebration, full of cute little touches! and lots of DIY!!

ReplyDeleteYes bridal shows are fun (went to Pronovias twice!) We wanted and accomplished a fun, not exactly standard wedding with DIY. It takes time, but the result will be worth it!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if I can ever offer any tips!
How fun! Love the cake!!! ;) And the drinks... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun :D
ReplyDeletePS- Miss you on my blog :(
Savor wedding planning and all the fun (and food sampling) it entails! A personality-filled wedding is the most charming, and I have no doubt yours will be!
ReplyDeleteLove, Leigh

I'm so glad you made it to this event! When I went to my first wedding event, I took so many notes and went home with soooo many ideas. It's fun though, to get all the free goodies and see the fashion show!

What a fantastic night! I am so jealous of you! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Those cake pops look delicious!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic!!
ReplyDeletei think id be the same way with attending a bridal event. we're not wanting a traditional wedding (and yes to lots of DIYs!) - but id love to go for the experience...and maybe id go there for those cake balls. they look delish!
ReplyDeleteThat looked so much fun! I went to one event and it was not nearly as fab as what you went too. I too want a bit more unique, less traditional wedding so I've been getting most of my inspiration from the blogosphere. So much info!
ReplyDeleteWOW this looks like such a fun night! Everything looks gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI went to a bridal showcase a few months before my wedding and it was one of the funnest nights! Champagne and cupcakes and tons of samples! I wish I could attend another one!!!

i am sure your wedding will be so pretty! cant wait!!
ReplyDeleteI never did the Bridal shows, but this one looks so nice!! I'm sure when my sister gets engaged, we'll do all this stuff and then some. She wants the big/over-the-top wedding!
ReplyDeleteI went to a bridal show, which is where I found my photographer AND DJ. I also ate my weight in free cake, hehe.
ReplyDeletediy is the best... it will make your wedding seem so much like the two of you! we went to a bridal show, and it was so fun sampling everything. my bridesmaids ran around like crazy people getting me samples & pamphlets. i felt so spoiled!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your planning time, you're going to have fun!!
Isn't it so fun to go to shows like this now that you have the ring? I went to one show just for fun since I already knew what I was going to do.
ReplyDelete*swoon*!! Looks like such an incredible event. I went to a few bridal events when I got married. There was one with an amazing Justin McCaffrey fashion show featuring all ballet dancers - it was incredible!
ReplyDeletep.s. I love wedding Wednesday :)
How fun! These are all such great photos! I never went to a bridal even but I always wanted to for inspiration. This was pre-blogging era where all inspiration came from commercial bridal magazines. Boring!
ReplyDeleteAnd I just got insanely excited at the thought of you sharing your photos when you try on dresses. You are going to be stunning in each one!
This looks like SO much fun! And the food looks so delectable. Love, love, love that last dress!

that sounds like a lot of fun! but i'm like you, i would just enjoy the experience. our wedding was 100% DIY {dannon even made several dozen cake balls the week before - those are NOT easy}, and very non-traditional. but a fashion show and desserts as a night out? yes please!
ReplyDeleteI always like so much seeing your posts, your smile is contagious! lovely pictures (and of yourself) and gorgeous hair! so fun this outing you had!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I LOVE that huge flower on the cake. And Kim's photos are beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteChocolates, cocktails and wedding dresses? Yes please!
ReplyDeleteI saw something with a meringue peak in the background that I want right now!
Perfect timing for this, I'd say. I totally want to go to something like this. my sister got to model in one of these in Denver, that would be awesome! That picture of you with a cake ball is stinking gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that bridesmaid's dress! Legit like, the exact vision I've always had in my mind. I LOVE it. Your tummy must have been sooo happy afterwards haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to know what kind of dress you're thinking about. Short? White, even? Can't wait for a post on that!
What an awesome/fun event!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! All those beautiful treats and dresses and you still get a goodie bag! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Mara, and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL!

What an amazing event to attend. I'd check out several wedding blogs to find less traditional/more original wedding ideas. I got married two years ago, I still like to follow wedding blogs. I can't get enough of wedding gowns!
