Can you believe this pair of shoes is my first pair of leopard anything? As far as I can remember I have never owned anything in an animal print. Why? No idea. Maybe I was intimidated by it, or I felt like I couldn't pull it off, but animal prints have always been something I've steered clear of. When I saw these shoes on Lulu's, though, I was intrigued and as soon as I tried them on I was obsessed! I want them on my feet every.single.day. So comfortable and so chic. I guess leopard isn't that scary after all!

I am so happy to say that I am blogging from the new apartment! Finally!! Our internet is set up and it feels so nice to be back into a routine. We got a lot of work done this weekend on the apartment, thanks to my parents and best friends. I have so many decorating ideas now and I can't wait to make them a reality. I get so excited just thinking about it! Maybe I'll incorporate an animal print somewhere haha if I'm brave enough :)
I hope you all had a great weekend! Remember to enter the Lauren Elan giveaway if you haven't already!

Mara! Those shoes are adorable! I am a firm believer that leopard is good in small doses, like shoes! Haha.

okay I know it's the smallest part of your outfit, but I LOVE that necklace! such a unique shape, and it draws the eye so well! great detail!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a little afraid of animal prints too...but those shoes are adorable!! Your outfits are always so cute. Congrats on your new apartment and having internet finally :)
ReplyDeleteLeopard suits you Mara! Love it with the denim. Happy decorating, that was my all time favorite part of relocating :)

I love those wedges, and love even more that you've broadened your horizons to include animal prints!! I am obsessed with leopard print lately, but currently have very little of it in my closet! Shoes & belts are definitely the easiest way to ease into it! So fun! And congrats on the new apartment, glad to hear you're all settled in!!
ReplyDeletethose animal print shoes are amazing! Love them!
ReplyDeleteMara, I'm SO glad that things are going well with the move! That's fantastic. I love your little leopard wedges; I own very little animal print but I think that this fall might be my time...

This look is adorable! I love the polka dotted skirt. I have also to chicken to try any leopard print. It always seems to 'loud' for my closet. But this is so chic looking on you. Great combo.
ReplyDeleteA house doesn't feel like a home until you get your internet set up. So glad all is well in the new place! I adore your hair- did you get it cut? And that skirt is oh so sweet with a little vixen with the shoes.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a little afraid of animal print, as well! I always check it out in stores, but I never purchase it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll start feeling a little bold and pick some up soon!
Wow! Love the whole outfit!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll get something animal print. I've never put much thought into it before..

I've been wanting some leopard pieces so bad (especially a cardigan) since I had to throw away my beloved leopard print flats. Despite their cuteness, I don't like shoes with holes in them. I'm hoping to join you in this leopard print madness soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect way to add leopard print to an outfit! I'm a little scared of leopard print too so I usually only add touches of it with maybe a belt or a scarf. I think small doses are better!

Cute outfit and I love the shoes! You are ready for Fall, animal print is very popular for the upcoming season.
ReplyDeleteMara you are so beautiful and even thought I don't know you personally, I can tell that you are beautiful on the inside too! Thanks for your inspiring blog :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing the move! Hope you have fun decorating your new apartment. I have no doubt that your excellent taste will come through in your new design (exhibit A: those shoes).
ReplyDeleteYour new leopard wedges are super cute on you!

I got my first pair of animal print shoes (or anything animal print- mine are leopard, too!) for my birthday this past January. I had been wanting a pair all fall/winter and my mom got them for me! I was so excited. I wore them up until it got warm out since they're closed toed and I only wear open toed in summer. =) I can't wait for cool weather to wear them again.
ReplyDeleteI've never worn animal print either - it's still got a bit of tacky image in the UK and, alas, I'm not one of the trend setters putting that right! Maybe I'll buy myself something leopard print on pay day...!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the new apartment.
LOVE those shoes!! :D Definitely a good first animal-print piece! :D

Last time I had something animal print was my zebra-striped vest in elementary (or middle?) school. Haha, I don't think that really worked so well for me.
ReplyDeleteBut these shoes really do work great for you :)
ohhh i want those shoes!! i tend to shy away from animal print as well, but in small doses (like shoes, belts) it is awesome!! i love that you mixed it with the polka dots, too. Good luck redecorating and i hope you enjoy this exciting time in your life!
ReplyDeleteI've never owned anything animal print either. Good for you! I love the 'pop' it gives this otherwise simple (yet still fabulous, of course) outfit. Happy Monday & congrats on being mostly moved in! :o)
ReplyDeletethe skirt is to die for!

look at you in your leopard shoes! I'm so glad you are set up in your new apartment. I'm sure you still have some unpacking to do, more organizing and a lot of decorating, but I think that organizing and decorating are the best parts!

ReplyDeleteYeah those shoes are pretty fab! And so is the whole outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!! And congrats on the new apartment!!
ReplyDeleteyour first leopard print item?! that makes me look like a trash bag ;) leopard flats (LOVE!), leopard undies (i swear i am not trashy!!), a leopard bra..that yes, i did wear to a white trash party and have only worn the 1 time, 2 leopard shirts...geeze, what else?! leopard jammies (a gift), leopard jammie shorts that i wear allll the time and recently i got the leopard sally hanson nailpolish strips but they were way too trashy feeling for me, haha. i had them on for like 2 days and couldnt handle it. i am going to reapply them for my camping trip this weekend though!
ReplyDeleteLibby on the Label
hooray for internet! and way to rock the leopard.
ReplyDeleteamazing shoes!!!
ReplyDeletethat outfit is like my dream outfit. it looks so comfy and so chic and those shoes! goodness. if i knew where your new apartment was, i would probably come rob your closet. sorry.
ReplyDeleteI love that paired a jean shirt with a flowy skirt! I usually match my jean shirts with a more structured skirt (like a pencil skirt a la J.Crew) but I love this look. I'm going to try and incorporate it into my wardrobe.

Animal prints, especially leopard, can be intimidating because they are way too sexy! But the print on those wedges is subtle, so they actually look nice. :) Your hair is always gorgeous, I envy you!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a thrill to decorate a new home (or redecorate an old one). I hope you'll have a nice time!

Haha, I totally know what you mean about the animal print! I used to think it meant gaudy, tacky & kind of cougar-ish but now I actually really love it in small doses :) You look so pretty as always -- I can't wait for your wedding pictures! <3
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit and the animal print is a nice touch. Some people go overboard and it's just too much, whereas this is just P E R F E C T!
ReplyDeletegreat outfit! especially the trendy polka dot skirt :-)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! You?! Scared of leopard print?! I admit I haven't been reading your blog since the beginning, but I definitely can see you pulling it off. In fact, I could see you wearing this outfit but with a leopard print skirt!
ReplyDeleteAnd leopard print home decor would totally kick ass! XD
These shoes are so fabulous. I want them.

ReplyDeleteChristian Louboutin Leopard Boots This is what I would expect from designer - classic and ladylike but young and contempory. Runs a bit big to I used pads to make up difference. Got a lot of compliements from my female friends.
Christian Louboutin Shoes on sale These are great, true to size, but I bought them for a wedding during which I will be on my feet most of the time and just didn't find them comfortable enough.
