I got some questions about why I was in Vegas last week, whether it was for fun or for work and it was actually for work {although it ended up being a lot of both}. Many of you know how I was looking for a job and I was blessed with an incredible opportunity working for Ruche as a buyer and stylist. I wanted to share with you the latest lookbook, that just came out today. It was my first project and it was so much fun, although a lot of work. I've been in Las Vegas since Sunday and it's the first time I've been away from Matthew for this long since before we were married. And before that the longest might have been just a weekend. I'm looking forward to coming home tomorrow and giving him and GiGi Bear a big hug! Matthew was in charge of naming this post {sometimes I get title block} and he decided to name it after his favorite shark/biggest enemy!

My Dad likes to tease me that I don't like polka dots but I really do! When I was younger I just didn't like the super big polka dots, or mismatched ones. Now I think I'm a fan of most polka dots, especially black and white ones! They're just so cute!

I'm pretty much obsessed with these shorts from Lulu*s. The fact that they are a bright pinkish red is amazing and they're made out of a really comfy jersey that makes me want to sleep in them {and yes I may have done that already!}.

happy veggie

The other night Matthew and I decided to have a midweek date night. My fave! He LOVES pho soup and so do but it's been hard to find a good veggie pho in LA. Most of them have beef in them I think. Anyways, we were researching places and heard about this amazing veggie pho place a couple miles from our apartment called Happy Veggie. Let me just say I was one happy veggie :)

The thing I love about pho is that it's so customizable. No two are the same, unless you leave them how they are served. They bring you a big plate of bean sprouts, basil, and different sauces to make it your own. Matthew's is always super spicy and mine is pretty mild in comparison, but still really good. Noodle soup is just so yummy and good! Gets me excited for fall and winter!

I am scared of heights, hate scary movies, and I dislike change. So, in turn, I wouldn't consider myself much of a risk taker. But with leopard one day and a high-low dress the next, I'd say I'm definitely improving!

One thing I'm getting used to about our new home is that we are less than a mile from the beach. Amazing in theory, and on those beautiful warm days, but in reality it gets a little chilly over here. It's been overcast the past couple of days and by the time the sun sets you'd be crazy to go out without a sweater. Matthew loves it since he runs hot but oh my goodness I get cold so easily! Hopefully my body will get used to it, otherwise you'll be seeing me in a lot more sweaters :)

all day I dream about food

It's true. I'm a little food obsessed. Moving hasn't provided for the best meals since Matthew and I had our kitchen in boxes up until Saturday. The kitchen was the first thing I started working on, though, before the closet even! I can't wait to get back into my schedule of planning the week's meals over the weekend. The one annoying thing about our new city is that there isn't a weekend Farmers Market close by. It was so nice to be able to go to the Farmers Market on Sundays and now I don't know what we'll do. I'm sure we'll just have to drive a little further because it's definitely worth it. Here are some photos of the foods I've been craving:

I just got this cookbook and I am dying to make every single recipe! I love good veggie dishes and these all look especially delicious. The problem will be figuring out which to choose first! Cooking in our new kitchen is going to be so fun. It's one of my favorite parts of the apartment because the appliances are so nice and new. It was a major selling point for me, as well as the big closet!! I wanted to share the Before photos of the apartment today but Matthew said it would be boring without the After photos next to it. So more pressure for me to decorate {and finish unpacking} asap!!
