You'd be surprised how much there is to do on an island. Matthew and I took a day off from the beach, as required by our sunburned backs {Matthew's more than mine!}, and headed to upcountry to explore. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to do everything, but we did make time to see the cutest goats, taste some fresh pineapple juice, and smell the lavender.

Favorite Spots in Upcountry
Things to Do: Surfing Goat Dairy, Tadeschi Vineyards- Maui Wines, Alli Kula Lavender Farms, Haleakala National Park- magical sunrises above the clouds, Kula Botanical Gardens, the road to Hana
Casual Restaurants: La Provence {delicious French brunch}, T. Komoda Store and Bakery in Makawao {yummy stick donuts, cream puffs, and malasadas}, Ulupalakua Ranch Store and Grill {for the meat lovers}
If you've been to Maui before and have a favorite spot I didn't mention, feel free to leave it in a comment below!
There's always next time :)

ReplyDeleteThat sounds divine! I love the beach but going to the less crowded parts where the pace is even slower sounds so ideal. Love that dress you wore!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that you two were able to get away! My husband and I were in Maui the last time, dare I say, almost 20 years ago! We took the road to Hana and he thought it would be cool to rent a little convertible Miata...wrong, cause it took us twice as long to get through, but it was beautiful! Your photos make me want to go back. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures and love the 2 loving goats especially.. awww..!

What fun! The goat pictures are kind of hilarious... "We went to Hawaii ... and petted goats!" I love the seemingly randomness of it.
