The other week Ruche came out with a feature called Dazzling Decades. I've always wanted to style a shoot inspired by the decades so this was especially fun for me. I learned a lot more about American fashion, particularly from the 30s and 40s. It seems like those decades don't get as much attention since they're sandwiched between the 20s and the 50s, but it was still twenty years of great fashion. Here are my favorite looks from each decade. You can look on the site to see the others!

I'm most drawn to fashion from the 50s, although after shooting this I can see how I'm inspired by other decades as well. There's just something that I love about the timeless, feminine style, and of course all the dresses!

I'm so glad you guys featured the 30's and 40's! The story I wrote is set in the 30's and 40's so I'm incredibly eager to see your take on it. I love love love these dresses! The modesty of the lengths and the sweet sleeves are a definite plus for me. Love that!

I think I love the glitz and glamour of the 20s the most, but that watercolor top in the 40s picture is making me change my mind!
