I love this tuxedo dress because it pulls on a masculine look in a feminine way. I've always loved pairing black and white colors together and having the look be a little girly and also a little tough. I don't wear this leather jacket as much as I should but it seems I always pair it with the same colors {see here}, and have a similar mindset. Since leather is a big trend for fall, in different textures and different colors, I'm determined to bring this jacket out more!

This weekend might have been my favorite one from summer so far. It started on Friday night with a Westwood date with our favorite couple Eden and Zan. We went for pizza at 800 Degrees and then ice cream cookie sandwiches at the ever-so-popular {we were in line for over 30 minutes} Diddy Riese. You can't beat an ice cream sandwich for $1.75! It was both Eden's and my first time and it was yummy! On Saturday Matthew and I ran around town for new apartment errands but it was fun to be together. We had a sushi date at night and then watched The Dark Night. {We've been wanting to see it again before seeing The Dark Night Rises}. Sunday we had a beach day and then had my family over to see our new place. It was so nice to have a fun and relaxing weekend. Now I'm ready for a busy and uber hot week at work!
I hope you all had a great weekend too!

I love Diddy Riese and I'm so happy they're just as cheap as when I lived in Westwood. So good, also! I love that necklace- really brings the whole outfit up a notch.

Layering your chic leather jacket over such a feminine dress was a great choice. The two mix well and don't look like they are competing for center stage. You should definitely wear this coat more.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is great and you look good in the leather jacket so you should wear it more often!
ReplyDeleteOh, before I forget— Did you get me an ice cream sandwich too?

Sounds like an amazing weekend Mara - weekends like that are my absolute favourite... and your dress is stunning. Love that you added a leather jacket & a pop of colour with the shoes!! Hope your Monday is off to a fab start! xo V
ReplyDeleteLove that outfit!, esp. the cinched waist. And B&W is always a winner combination.
ReplyDeleteOh! Diddy Riese brings back such good memories from the good ol' days when I attended college at UCLA. Back in the day (2005/6. Time definitely flies!) those famous ice-cream sandwiches were just $1 apiece. So tempting for for cash-strapped college kids.
It's adorable and I LOVE those shoes!
