off to hawaii

Matthew and I are on our way to the beautiful island of Maui! I'm so excited!! I'll try to update while I'm gone but I'm kind of looking forward to a computer-free vacation. Have a great week everyone!

at work: Ciao Bella

We've been planning lots of fun shoots at Ruche recently. Our latest feature, Ciao Bella, is all about fun and poppy sorbet colors. I loved that we put together a little ice cream cart as well, especially since we got to eat it afterwards!

I really believe that wearing bright colors can positively affect your mood. I always feel a little happier in oranges, pinks and yellows, especially when the weather is nice. With our trip to Hawaii approaching I’m planning on packing lots of brights!

look book: short stuff

It's finally getting to be short weather! These tweed shorts are favorites of mine but I never got a chance to wear them this past Fall. Since Fall and Spring are basically the same season, but reversed, I figured it still might be acceptable to wear them. We're still transitioning into warmer weather so shorts in a more Winter fabric are ok by me.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I relaxed at my parent's house, baked a chocolate tart, saw friends, and started a new TV show {The Killing}. I'm excited for this week because it's my last one at work before Matthew and I go on vacation! Matthew surprised me on our dating anniversary with a surprise- to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary in Hawaii!! Best gift ever! Gosh, I seriously can not believe that it's almost been a year since we got married! It's been so fun and wonderful but the time has really flown by. I can't wait to celebrate our one year by relaxing and exploring the island of Maui! I think it's just what we need :)

eden's baby shower

Last weekend was my of my best friend's baby shower! Eden is one of the sweetest people I know, as well as the most stylish. She has an incredible design eye, and of course she has her own event design company! Eden has a major sweet tooth {like me!}, so she chose a Chocolate-themed shower for her baby boy. So perfect! Every detail of her shower was planned absolutely perfectly. I loved all the touches of browns and blues with pops of gold.  I had so much fun helping her with crafts for the shower, and seeing it all come together day-of was the best. Here are some of the adorable photos her husband Zan took. 

Can’t wait to officially welcome Eden and Zan’s baby boy into the world! With less than a month to her due date I am soo excited!
