fisherman's catch

February 7, 2013

Last weekend Matthew went on a deep sea fishing trip with some friends from work. He had to wake up bright and early, before the sun was even up, to head to the docks. Matthew probably caught about twelve fish, although some had to be thrown back since they weren't big enough. He's already warned me, though, that when he's old and gray he'll "elaborate" on the story with details of a mid-winter storm and catching dozens of huge fish. There might even be a story of a shark! {I think it will be my wifely duty to back him up on that one!} My fisherman husband brought back our dinner and we went over to our friends' house for a fresh grilled fish taco night. Such a fun night!

Matthew and Rob were told by some old fisherman to take a shot of the cooked fish juice for fisherman's luck. {I think it was just a trick!} Let's just say Matthew shudders when he remembers swallowing it. Silly husband, I wouldn't have fallen for that one!

P.S. Can we talk about how crazy Mathew's beard is?
I think he really wants to become a fisherman!

  17. How fun! Not many things better than FRESH fish. Yumm...and yeah, what's up with the beard? Did he lose a bet? ;-) Just kidding - he actually doesn't look bad with a beard, I'm just one of those girls who prefers a clean shaven face. He definitely looks the fisherman part though.

  23. The words "deep sea fishing" make me wanna hurl. On the plus side, isn't it great being married to a man who can catch the fish and cook it too? I know because I have my own at home ;-)

  24. He looks like a fisherman for sure. Not sure if your pro-beard or not though. Haha! He suits him, but at the same time it makes him ten years older - not sure if he's going for that! ;)
