a striped turtleneck situation

December 4, 2013

Turtlenecks are my favorite to wear this time of year, especially when the weather allows it {which sadly isn't too often}. There are several cute turtleneck options, but this striped one immediately struck me. I love the oversized fit, slim arms, and the cozy wool material. I wore it in San Diego on Black Friday thinking it would be the perfect loose top post major meal. I wasn't thinking about my bottom half though. Trying to fit into tight jeans after eating a heavy meal the night before was not my smartest move. But they were just too cute, so of course I couldn't resist!
striped turtleneck Madewell {similar style sans stripes}, pants c/o Articles of Society, boots Dolce Vita {also here}, bag 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Satchel {other colors available}, lipstick Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood

These Articles of Society jeans are pretty amazing by the way! For coated jeans under $100 {$79 to be exact} you seriously can't beat them! The color looks great with browns, blacks and of course grays {my new favorite color}. I'm going to be wearing them all winter long, hopefully when I'm not so totally stuffed from food, though! Oh, Thanksgiving, you almost did me in there!

  6. I have always been hesitant to wear turtle necks, but the way I see them now is they are the perfect sweater+scarf combo. I will definitely be stocking up my winter wardrobe with them now :)

  16. Super cute outfit. I love the color combo. The turtleneck looks great as an individual piece, I love when camel and black are paired together. They look even better in stripe form.
