corals in the cold

December 11, 2013

LA is still having a little bit of of a cold wave. I'm not going to lie I kind of absolutely love it. Lately in the afternoons I've been taking these 10 minute walks and I can't tell you how amazing they're been. I bundle up and walk around the neighborhood close to my office. It's so nice to get outside and feel the cold air on my face. It's refreshing and it makes me a little more energized to get through the last few hours!
jacket Threadsence, jeans Articles of Society {also love this pair}, purse c/o Fossil, shoes c/o Proper Samantha Pleet Bonny Boots {also available here}, scarf Old Navy {sold out in orange but loove that hot pink! Here's a similar orange style}

Even though it's almost wintertime I love wearing light colors that are usually reserved for the warmer months. Like my afternoon walks, they're kind of refreshing! I've been wearing this aztec coat a lot this fall {remember from this post}, but the addition of the scarf and this perfect apricot-colored bag is the icing on the cake. Makes me realize it would be versatile in the early spring too!

Those in LA, I'm so excited to be hosting an event at the Kate Spade store in Santa Monica tomorrow, Thursday December 12th! It's going to be a fun night of drinks, snacks, and 25% off your purchase! I hope you can make it!! More information below:

  22. Mara, just found your blog after you commented on mine, and I'm so happy I did! I wasn't able to comment on your "About" page, but similar to you one of the reasons I started my blog was to keep close to my boyfriend who's currently long distance {well, kinda short... only four hours} -- he's from LA and I'm from SF but we met in college at Georgetown.

    And I loved this post! A long walk is my favorite {and totally cheap} way to relax and just appreciate life. Also, I love your lipstick color in these photos -- what is it?

    1. Hi Alison!! Aw that's so sweet about you and your boyfriend. And 4 hours is definitely long distance. That's not easy! I love that you're from SF and your bf is from LA! Matthew and I met in SF so it's one of our favorite cities!! This lipstick is Mac Chatterbox!! I wear it ALL the time! haha! Talk to you soon!
